Mike has over 25 years of experience in the management of clinical laboratories. His broad based understanding and knowledge of the clinical laboratory industry qualifies him as a professional in delivering business plans that lead to major benefits; increased value and reduced costs. The improvement of billing processes and the development of outreach lab delivery strategies are notable benefits.

Mike’s successes have most recently been recognized during his former position as Vice President, Laboratory Operations, for UnitedHealthcare, Minneapolis, MN.  In this capacity, he directed the national strategy for laboratory services and participated in the development of UHC’s national provider network.  Prior to this position, Mike was Director of Business Development for Mount Sinai Hospital’s Center for Clinical Laboratories, New York, NY.  At Mount Sinai, outreach revenues were tripled early in the implementation of the business plan by focusing efforts on billing solutions and by demonstrating the value of the med center’s laboratory to the attending faculty. He also was the leader of LabCorp’s Northeast operating division in the capacity of Senior Vice President during the post National Health-Roche Biomedical lab merger. During this period, Mike delivered much of the cost-savings that were reported as the early value for this publicly traded mega-lab. 

As the owner of CLBS, Mike specializes in the long-term and short-term solutions in the operational development and commercialization of hospital clinical outreach services necessary to engineer maximum profitability.
